Ask KEN

Bring it on Guys

The KEN channel is used for me to rant and rave about stuff. Sometimes that meets with global approval sometimes condemnation but hey, that’s life for you.

I am now going to open that up for anyone to ask a question or make a suggestion. I will then talk about it in as concise way as I possibly can with an honest opinion.

Details here;

Funny is Funny

It Make I Laugh

In this series I talk about some of the funny things that happen whilst going about the duties of a Community Manager.

This week I look at a hater who is so thick I am left in amazement he can use his mouse. Some Guy who thinks that being a partner will get him a free Xbox and a few contract concerns.

We Are Nearly Ready

Win Shit

So I have now listed the third in the Vincit series, this one with Black Ops and an amazing knife / tomahawk dude.

That will be it now for a week and the three episodes will be left to fester. Sometime next week I will take a look at the figures and make the call on pitching it to the Respawn US team.

So far I am greatly encouraged by the comments but the views are disappointing. This could be a YouTube blip and if that is the case it will iron itself out over the next few days.

I am looking for around my average of 3k on these vids so fingeres crossed. Latest episode here

vincit qui se vincit

He conquers who conquers himself

This is my new series for my channel and with all new ventures you look to your followers and friends for support.

The show is basically about me vs me, taking some of my better games and getting better than the game before it. It involves talking about, and showing, gameplay from people in game that are playing well. Using theater mode to show the two best players in the game and how they do what they do, then trying their styles of gameplay myself and looking for an improvement.

Come show it some love and Guys and tweet this to your mates :)

Black Ops II

The long awaited reveal.

So here we are, a few hours away from the reveal trailer for what we think is Black Ops 2.

I keep hearing all the rumours and am having trouble separating fact from fiction to be honest, but I am trying to follow what’s going on. I understand many will say why? as to many out there in cyber land COD is dead, well not yet.

I will never hide the fact that I am a huge COD fan, not necessarily a good COD player but a huge fan nevertheless. It is simply one of those great levellers in my view. Great moments like myself and SmallBeans going 1v1 and me getting 18 kills on him. Like the first time I cracked 30 kills in a match. These are the moments.

I have to confess that I am losing it with MW3 and am ready for a change. There will always be great games released but there will only ever be one Call of Duty.

No matter what your thoughts are, most of us will buy it. Some of us on multiple consoles and you can guarantee YouTube will be swamped with it. I can see this one pushing the boundaries and putting the “Wow” factor back into the series.

I for one can’t wait :)

My Screenplay

Eddy’s Story – Too Close:

Over time I have made a few of these Podcast Stories now. Most are enjoyable to talk about and some are just stroies that need to be told, this is is different.

It’s based on events that were put together by various people who either saw or heard parts of it. I put the finishing touches and recorded the story. So why the screenplay?

Well I have wanted to do one of these for a while and this seemed like an opportunity not to be missed. The second is that this story, above all others, means allot to me. This is effectively my tribute to those involved.

Comments welcome and feel free to pass the screenplay on.

Internet For All

The Right Kit

As the older generation gets even older the “Granny Factor” for internet use tends to diminish. By that I do of course mean your Granddad trying to access, or even understand, e-mail and the web.

My folks are the same unfortunately, and like many people of a certain age they feel left out by the revolution that is the internet. Thankfully technology is now at a stage where these people can get all the good bits, without the bad.

A few years ago I watched, and tried to help, as my parents bought their first PC. We all went through the learning curve of mouse use and keyboard stuff, it was a trial. Recently my Mum has got herself a laptop but it still means a battle with Windows.

So what’s the solution, well of course it has to be tablets. Instant boot, very easy e-mail and internet and none of the crap that goes with it. Think even my parents would be able to handle YouTube with a Tablet. So I am going to try and talk my Mum into one, and take her through the pitfalls of buying said same.

Android or Apple? Known make or one of the cheap units? Lots of choices and to be honest you need to speak to someone who knows the ropes. I have owned both iPad and Galaxy, as well as a Archos for all of an hour.

The internet should truly be for everyone, despite age or ability, because there is genuinely something for everyone out there in internet land. It’s all about the right kit for the right type of user.

Something New

Movin on up!

When you do what I do for a living all sorts of possibilities open up. Sometimes you think you can get lost in the moment, I think it’s called invincibility.

But you do start to think outside your comfort zone. Suddenly two little words start to sound more and more appealing, “Can I……….”

This weeks “Can I” is one that has been lurking around my mind for quite a while. Can I write?

Now that just sounds ridiculous. Sure I have written for a magazine in the past. I wrote three articles on editing videos for YouTube. That was published in 2010. Prior to that I wrote a “Day in the Life” for the Peugeot in-house magazine.

But things have moved on since then. Dyslexic all my life I have to really concentrate to make a coherent sentence. And I am lazy when it comes to that, as anyone who reads my tweets will tell you. Temptation is to just write, from the heart with the anger love and serenity that comes from the moment. Last thing I want to do is spell check every fucking word, it kills the moment.

But fuck it, I am going to try my hand. It’s time to write the script, put the screenplay down and fly that bitch. Not for the hope that someday it will make it to the big, or little, screen but for me to test the water.

Time to push the limits of what’s possible. Ken as a writer? don’t think that will fly but lets see where this goes.
